Intarsia is an interesting area of scrolling that many have never attempted. It is an interesting process, producing a unique finished product.
You can think of it as building a puzzle. Numerous pieces are cut, the edges of those pieces are then rounded with a router, belt sander, or other method. The final step is finishing certain pieces with different colors of stains or paints and then adhering the pieces to a backer board (in effect putting the "puzzle" together permanently). Intarsia produces a 3-D effect. If you've never tried an intarsia project, I highly recommend it as a learning experience...and who knows, you may get hooked!
